Sexy Dragons Cavorting Naked in Wintry Flames? (a five-minute #freewrite)

They always told us that the big freeze was coming. It was referenced in various books and TV shows… hell, it was an even a meme at some point. Still is. People, though distressed, still have time to make light of the situation.

“‘Winter is coming,’ he said. It sure did!” they laugh.

Of course I knew the quote and where it came from, but had no freaking clue the actual context. Unlike most of my obsessed brethren, I had no need to obsessively watch a TV show about sexy dragons cavorting naked in wintry flames. That’s what it was about, right?

Who knows anymore. Electricity and TV is long gone. Doesn’t stop the damned memes, though; they officially became a part of life… I am in hell. Pluto’s Underworldistic Hell.

I wrapped my coat about my knees and leaned against a gnarled, leafless tree, ignoring the stone-like twig that poked into my spine –that was the least of my problems. The world was shrouded with soft snow drifts, ice flakes, and a strange white slurry that looked like it could be snow but definitely was not.

Old Mikael down the street collected some of it the other day and tried to melt it for some drinkable water… we’re holding a memorial for him today. Well, for what remains of him. We’re still finding various chunks after the explosion.

Snow is a fantastic preservative, at least.

‘Sexy dragons cavorting naked in wintry flames’, just had to be my title, hehe.

It is Day 445 of @mariannewest’s five-minute #freewrite challenge! The prompt for today is — the big freeze — and this is what I came up with before the eggtimer website went beep-beep at me. 😀

I have exciting news!

I published my first book yesterday! I wrote a post about it yesterday, which you can find behind these blue words!

The published story came to life thanks to the @freewritehouse and the November #freewritemadness, and I am so absolutely chuffed to have pressed the self-publish button and finally put myself out there.

Half Past the Moonfall, available now on Amazon!

Now I want to publish ALL the books! And I will. 😉 Hoping Ascension will be my next, which is theeeee story that has been tormenting my mind since I was 10yrs old or so. It will be done!
